first_img D-backs president Derrick Hall: Franchise ‘still focused on Arizona’ Kolb may provide the long term answer for a team like the Cardinals, but, if you believe Cosell, he may hurt the team in the short term while he adjusts to a new system and life as an everyday starter in the NFL. The Kevin Kolb to the Arizona Cardinals debate didn’t take time off during the holiday weekend, in fact it raged on. While many ‘amateurs’ — ourselves included — have tried to weigh the pros and cons of dealing for the Philadelphia Eagles second stringer, we’ve yet to hear any real experts assessment of his skills (that is unless you include Andy Reid trying to talk up his trade bait’s value). Nevada officials reach out to D-backs on potential relocation On Tuesday, NFL Films Greg Cosell, a proclaimed quarterback expert, gave Yahoo Sports his thoughts on Kolb and what he’s shown in his seven career starts. When his first read is there, given the route combination and the defense, he’s very, very good. But when that first read is not quite there and he’s forced to reset and look elsewhere, I think he struggles and I think he starts to play a little too fast. He starts to lose his pocket composure. He starts to lose his footwork and I think he starts to lose his downfield focus. You can tell in these types of situations that he’s not getting a clear picture when he has to reset. So, I think, overall, that’s Kolb at this point (in his career). It’s not earth shattering news. As a matter of fact, it’s probably expected. Kolb is a young quarterback who hasn’t played in a lot of NFL games. The fact that when a play breaks down he struggles to recover seems to be something you’d imagine would happen from a player who has rarely been in game situations. What Cosell’s analysis does do is make one wonder exactly how prepared Kolb truly is to step in and lead an NFL team after the lockout. With no offseason to prepare and familiarize himself with a new team’s playbook, his inability to adjust on the fly may become a bigger issue. Without a mastery of an offense that first read won’t be as simple and his second and third reads will be progressively tougher. (AP Photo/Ross D. Franklin) With the NFL regular season coming up in September, fantasy football rankings have already begun and an Arizona Cardinal could be a big reason why fantasy owners win their league this writer Micheal Beller created a list of the top ten fantasy running backs in 2016, and he has David Johnson as the no. 5 back in the the NFL.Chances are if you grabbed Johnson off waivers last year, you won your league. Or at least came very close. A bit player for Arizona’s first 11 games, Johnson was one of the best fantasy weapons over the last five weeks of the season, running for 442 yards, catching 17 passes for 216 yards and hitting pay dirt five times. He enters this season as the unquestioned starter, and it’s easy to see why that should be a great spot. The Cardinals offense figures to be among the best in the league, with Carson Palmer, Michael Floyd, Larry Fitzgerald, John Brown and an impressive line surrounding Johnson. Chris Johnson and Andre Ellington are still in Arizona, and both will have roles in the offense. Johnson’s appeal this season is strong and easy to see, but given the company, he does carry some risk at his ADP.Even with Chris Johnson and Ellington in the backfield last year, David Johnson ran for 581 yards and eight touchdowns. Chris Johnson had more rushing attempts and yards, with 814, but had less success finding pay dirt, with only three touchdowns. Ellington also added three touchdowns and 289 yards for the Cardinals. first_imgGo back to the enewsletterVirtuoso recently honoured its highest performing travel agency members and advisors, each of whom earned the opportunity to experience a different look at one of the world’s most beloved and visited cities: Venice, Italy. Virtuoso hosted the group during a time that is increasingly more popular with luxury travellers, the off-season, which opens up more cultural experiences and opportunities that are not available during busier, more congested parts of the year. Italy has proven itself a favourite among upscale travellers, having been rated the network’s top destination for the past 10 years according to Virtuoso’s annual Luxe Report, prompting participants to add visits to locations throughout the country to round out their Venetian experience. The Chairman’s Event demonstrates Virtuoso’s appreciation for its most dedicated members, bringing together these industry leaders associated with more than 90 agencies from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Dominican Republic, France, Mexico, Peru, United Kingdom and the United States.“The richness of this gathering is felt through the contributions of each participant as they share varied perspectives from diverse geographic regions, increase their depth of relationships amongst themselves as well as the host partners, and exchange ideas on business and best practices,” said Matthew D. Upchurch, Chairman and CEO of Virtuoso.“Trust and camaraderie among Virtuoso’s members is a hallmark of the network, and the shared happenings of the Chairman’s Event enhance these bonds while tracking to Virtuoso’s ethos of creating greater authentic human connections.”With Italian Dream Inc. Travel (I.D.I.) leading the charge, Virtuoso partners, both within Venice and throughout Italy, banded together to create truly exceptional experiences, many of which would be difficult to achieve during the city’s high season. Participants were outfitted by Venice’s famed costumer Atelier Antonia Sautter before attending a traditional 18th-century masquerade ball. The evening brought together Mandarin Oriental, Milan’s two-Michelin-starred chef, Antonio Guida, as well as Hotel & Spa Rosa Alpina’s three-Michelin-starred chef, Norbert Niederkofler, for an unforgettable celebration of Italy’s cultural and culinary heritage.Other events during this private look at Venice highlighted the city’s art, history, and exquisite sights including special access to Scuola Grande di San Rocco, a feast for the eyes featuring some of Tintoretto’s finest work. Attendees also were treated to a grand lunch at Aman Venice, which had not previously closed its public spaces for any reason other than a hotel buy-out. While Venice rolled out the red carpet to welcome the group, the Virtuoso Chairman’s Event is more than a celebration of good work. This trip represented an opportunity to bring the network’s highest producing travel advisors to one of the world’s foremost destinations, showcasing the many benefits of visiting through Virtuoso’s connections, and ensuring they spread the word to their highly desirable clientele.“While our Chairman’s Event is a celebration of Virtuoso members who have demonstrated their support of this network, it also raises the tide of collaboration between our advisors and partners,” Upchurch continued. “We selected Venice to support our number-one destination: Italy. By choosing to visit during the off-season, it became a study in how to experience a world-renowned city in a more authentic way for the preservation of the destination.”This rarified glimpse of luxury Venice is courtesy of Virtuoso’s incredible partnerships, both within Italy as well as the world over.
